This is a remarkable property.
Located down on the south east edge of the long island (45 minutes from the airport — most of the drive clear highway), it is one of Phuket’s more plush resorts. It sparkles.
I always enjoy my stay here. From reception to sunset, the service and ambiance are always sensational. It all feels good.
Nestled on the southeast coast of Phuket, it adorns the top of Cape Panwa. It looks like a scrumptious wedding cake. Graceful luxury – like yummy butter-cream icing – decorates up and around the manicured, 40-acre, tiered hilltop.
First constructed in 2006 with 20 opulent private-residence villas, the resort was completed in 2009 to accommodate affluent, discerning vacationers (that’s lucky me… : ). My private villa was (see above) so spacious and intimate I was reluctant to walk out and feed myself. Tranquil, relaxing.
It is an exceptional, idyllic retreat – a serene and exclusive aerie with (in addition to the huge pool villas): two hilltop pools; a private beach below; a 100-meter pier; a commodious, yet intimate, spa overlooking the sea; a potpourri of stylish restaurants; and – perhaps its hallmark – an eager, ebullient, and efficient staff. Loved the pampering. It seems everybody knew my name.
I talked with Oliver Schnatz, the energetic GM who was recruited by the hands-on owners over a year ago, on the strength of his many years in international luxury hotels. “I inherited a wonderful resort with a fabulous staff. This property glows!”
